ABOUT POPULIZT

Populizt is an independent media and cultural intelligence platform for people who want to understand what is actually happening beneath the headline.

We cover politics, media, business, technology, institutions, culture, and modern life with a simple premise: the story is rarely just the story.

Behind the latest controversy, trend, policy announcement, corporate campaign, cultural argument, or supposedly world-changing idea are deeper forces: incentives, institutions, status, power, human behavior, opportunity costs, and the gap between what people say they are doing and what actually happens.

Populizt exists to examine those deeper forces.

We are interested in outcomes over intentions, evidence over performance, signal over noise, and ideas that remain useful after the news cycle moves on.

The goal is not to manufacture more outrage. It is to make complicated things clearer, question assumptions intelligently, expose absurdity when it deserves exposure, and help people think harder about what might actually work.

Populizt grew out of the ideas behind Chris Markl’s book Delusions of Helping, which asks a deceptively simple question of governments, nonprofits, politicians, corporations, movements, experts, and ourselves:

Everyone claims they’re helping. Fine. Prove it.

Populizt expands that lens into a broader media platform spanning written analysis, current events, cultural intelligence, podcasts, audio, video, interviews, and other formats.

Read it. Listen to it. Watch it. Argue with it. Think for yourself.
